Graduation Celebration with UBC-school-participants
By UBC
The students of the classes 4a and 4b of the Middle School Asparn have reason to celebrate. Not only because the summer holidays ahead, but also because they have successfully completed their three years of participation as Citizen Scientists within the "United by Crisis?" project!
On June 20, 2024, the joint graduation event took place: In a half-day shift operation, the students presented their findings to all other classes of the NMS, as well as to the invited parents and other guests.
In the “coat of arms hall” of MAMUZ Schloss Asparn, the students presented a retrospective on the many activities and work steps they carried out in the project. Following this, the explanatory videos produced by the students themselves on the methods used in the research project were presented to the audience. The short presentation of the project results, previously delivered at the Science Fair in Klosterneuburg, was repeated as well. Afterwards, at a total of five stations, the students explained the scientific and archaeological background of their research to the younger students and parents.
The highlight of the event was the ceremonial awarding of a “United by Crisis?”-project medal to each student. This was followed by a joint celebration in the courtyard of the castle.
We wish you a wonderful holiday & hope that we might have encouraged some of you to pursue a carrier in research as well! Many thanks for your work within the project.
P.S. And many thanks to Principal Keintzel and his team for their great commitment as well.
